Tournament Overview

The tournament will include 4 weapon categories:

1) Longsword 2) Rapier 3) Rapier & Dagger 4) Sword & Buckler

These are all mixed-gender categories. Participants will be at least 18 years of age.

Longsword

The Longsword is mainly a two-handed weapon with maximum total length of 140 cm and a weight of 1400-1800 grams. Cuts, thrusts and pommel strikes are considered valid hits during the games. Grappling is also allowed depending on the terrain. Weighted scoring is applied to all valid hits.

Rapier

The Rapier is a one-handed weapon with maximum total length of 125 cm, and a weight of 800-1200 grams and has a long slender blade. Although mainly focused on the thrust, cuts are also valid hits. Disarms and the use of the non-weapon hand is also allowed. Weighted scoring is applied to all valid hits.

Rapier and Dagger

Rapier and dagger is a combined weapons category. The rapier is combined with a dagger of maximum total length of 55 cm and a weight  of 300-700 grams. The dagger can be used to cut and thrust in a similar way to the rapier and hits are considered valid. Weighted scoring is applied to all valid hits.

Sword and Buckler

Sword and Buckler is the second combined weapons category. The sword is of maximum total length of 110 cm, and a weight of 800-1200 grams and has a thicker blade as opposed to the rapier. Cuts and thrust are considered valid hits. The buckler is a small round shield with a maximum diameter of 30 cm. Hits with the buckler are considered valid as long as they are done with the flat and not the edge of the shield. Weighted scoring is applied to all valid hits. .
